The Magic of Tiny Business by Sharon Rowe

The Magic of Tiny Business by Sharon Rowe

"I share my mistakes in the hope that I can spare you from making the same ones.... And if (when) you do skin your knees along the way, remember that it's only skin. And when you've got skin in the game, you stick with it."

Sharon Rowe took her idea of an environmentally friendly bag and the desire to become her own boss and created a business that brings in 2.2 million dollars annually. Her new book, The Magic of Tiny Business, is full of insight, advice and tons of information about how she has made her EcoBags company thrive and the things she has learned along the way. I read this book very quickly and highlighted on almost every page. While her sensibility and business acumen are evident in her writing, so much of what she discusses can also be applied to daily life. One thing in particular that spoke to me was when she wrote "When opportunity knocks, you decide to open the door wide, slightly, or not at all." Here's to all of us taking the chance and throwing that door wide open when our opportunity comes.

Many thanks to GetredPR for sending me this inspiring book that has filled me with ideas and pushed me one step closer to one day owning my own bookstore and reading clinic.
